... our cab driver floored it round the winding narrow roads so he could return for another fair. However as we reached the main drag we saw our first glimpse of retail temptation. After checking into our hotel and being upgraded to our suite we wandered the streets of St Maarten which consists of Front Street and Back Street (very imaginative).
This is the shopping Mecca of the Caribbean which became evident ...

... ran smoothly, and in layman’s terms, nobody got killed. And as far as the organisers were concerned, it ran just like clockwork. So next year, Dyana & I are going to see if we can become volunteers and do our bit. Sounds good to me!
And then on to the big party on Kim Sha Beach. Well.... absolutely thousands and thousands of people. All there to have a good time. Alcohol flowing... great music.....

... the corner and out of sight. “Action,” someone yelled and the screeching tyres told me he was coming again. Only this time we were ready for it. I think secretly I was hoping to see it roll over, crash and burst into flames as it does in the Hollywood movies. But, no! It didn’t. The little car was not powerful enough to do it. All it could achieve was a small skid as it tried desperately to come up on two wheels. Making it look good for the low camera ...
