Troy Federal Lock was the only one without hanging ropes, we had to loop our lines around a pipe instead. After the last lock we hit tidal waters.... time to pay attention and plan our runs accordingly from now on. It was interesting to pass through the bigger cities of Troy and Albany, and for me it was fun to see Albany from a completely different point of view! After Albany's shipping yards ...

... diesel at a tank outside- we will bring our gerry cans since it's not too far from the wall. Mechanicville is a convenient stop- you don't even really leave the channel you just push off a bit to the side and onto the wall. After adjusting to life back here in the states, I am settled and ready to begin my Masters degree and new job. However, before the school year begins, it is time to squeeze in one more adventure. This will be the first year I am helping move my little (but taller) brother into his dorm at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. My family has been to his campus at least a half dozen times, however, I have been unable ...

... We pulled out the shoes that we destroyed in the mud of SD and sloshed through the mud of Napanee. Many RV's had to be hauled out of there sites by tractors but fortunately we were on slightly higher ground. Finally the week was up and we were on Newmars doorstep the morning they reopened. Normally you have to book an appointment with them months in advance so we knew they wouldn't be able to take us immediately. They said they would try to fit us in ...
