... the 70's, I don't feel old because of that. Spending this time with these younger playful and energetic people has revitalized the youth in me. I feel connected to the teachers and the kids in a way that would not have so easily happened at home.

Beyond all of that, we're here for one last day with the neighborhood kids and everyone was feeling a mix of emotions about that. Sadness, accomplishment, happiness, gratefulness for what we do have, and hope. ...

It's only our second day at camp, and it already feels like we've been doing this for years. "Estamos juntos" is what a director will yell after giving instruction, we will all echo "juntos estamos." It translates as "Are we together? Together we are." (Side note: Echo shouts are quite common: "allelu-" "-ya!" "Silen-" "-cio")

Work Day #2

It is very late but I wanted to update everyone a bit on our trip. It has been an amazing two days. Yesterday, we worked from 8:30 to 6 pm, painting the windows and bars throughout the upstairs of the church in El Factor. This was very time consuming because we had to clean every bar, paint them with a red anti rust paint and then go back over everything with multiple coats of white paint. We also painting all ...
