... up the pass to Pushkar, with a convoy of VIP vehicles, then we climb quite steeply, with good, if fleeting views back to the lake at Ajmer.

On the way down the pass, we see no sign of Pushkar, just bare, rocky mountains with deep valleys. On the roadside are a lot of monkeys, some kind of langur, with black faces and pale whiskers around. From the bumpy bus, it is hard to get a good photo.

... We then took a horse carriage ride back to the hotel, which was stupid as the street it went down wasn’t interesting and full of traffic and thick smog. It was doubly stupid because then we took a car back to where the horse carriage came from, so that we could have dinner. Our organized tour didn’t work in our favor today.
