The hotel is nice, elegant, good location. The room cozy, spacious and clean,
very good service. It has very good restaurants, especially the Indian food.

Fantastic Hotel, easily the best we've ever stayed in. Then again, they know they are good. £7 for a beer...have a word. It was 57p last night for the same stuff in a back street! currently poolside

Officially, It seems that high tea is only offered indoors now, so we ordered our own cake and an assortment of food and had it served to us with "tea" outside. Ulrica and I had lovely tropical mocktails, with banana and pineapple and coconut milk.

          Perfect respite from heat

After a long day sight-seeing, and after 14 dusty days in Ladakh, the Imperial was a perfect respite from the heat. The marble interiors are cool, the service was excellent. We had a courtyard view room, which was a bit noisy in the early evening but not bad. The spa facilities were beautiful. As guests, we had access to the saunas and whirl pool. The spa treatments were excellent as well, taken in some of the most inviting treatment rooms I've ever seen. We did not dine in any of the restaurants, so I cannot comment on those ... but the bread from the bakery was warm and delicious!

Today we start our "flighting" back to the UK. With a check out at 12:00 that gives us time for a lazy morning by the pool catching up on the blogging and trying to finish a book. Angela is about 4 : nil up on the book stakes!

We drove to the India Gate a 42 metre high archway in the centre of Delhi . India gate commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British in WWI. The memorial bears the names of 13,516 British and Indian soldiers killed in the Northwestern frontier in the Afghan War of 1919.

Flew to Delhi today. Getting to the airport was my first experience with traffic and the water that accumulates when it rains. It seems that since there really isn't any infrastructure to direct the rain water out of the roads, it all pools in the low areas. In our experience going to the airport was under a multitude of overpasses, which didn't …

          Our First Day In India.
The journey here was tiring... we both had the thought that perhaps travelling was not all its made up to be! 6 hours to Singapore then a 3 hour wait in the airport and getting on flight to Delhi at 2.30 am. Thanks to our understanding doctor at home who provided a little sleep aid we managed to both get a few hours …

Once back at our hotel, I asked the front desk for a recommendation for quick and good Indian eats, his response was Hardiram's and boy was he right?!? We were mesmerized by the incredible flavors and variety available at this "fast food" concept, including something called Raj Kachori which blew our minds! We licked our fingers and sighed before turning in for the night. ...
