Reuben and Dad heard some loud rustling in the bush and realised Dad had nearly stood on a snake but Reuben jumped and shouted and the snake slid away. Mum and Daniel saw lots of lightening bugs that floated through the bush with their lights flashing on and off - we really liked ...

Our journey continues south along the West Coast of Florida. Most of the way we travelled along US Highway 41. Jayne remembers her first visit to Florida to attend a cousin's wedding. She was about 10 years old then. Jayne and her parents drove from Illinois to Florida along the same highway. Interstates hadn't been built then.

We did drive over a high mountain pass down here. The photo marking the pass is included here, but you can see that it was all the way up to 3 feet above sea level. We almost needed supplemental oxygen at that high altitude. Glad we are now down to a more comfortable 2 feet above sea level here at the campground.

A few rain showers did not dampen our spirits today, and we even enjoyed seeing a ...

My boy turns 8 and we celebrated this special occasion among family and friends at Dandy Bear attraction center where the kids had a blast in the laser tag room.

Thereafter we had some cake at home. Well some of us consumed the cake while other wore it! See the pictures for yourself.

Happy birthday my son. I love you.
