Finally we are managing to update our blog! Yes we are still alive and have not quite been cut into little pieces....... yet!!!
Starting with DC we got the New York City to DC Amtrak which took around 3.5 hours. The tropical storm Lee started to hit NYC the day we were leaving and arrived in DC the day we arrived …
This was a short ride to downtown Atlanta partly because of the weather threats but mostly because I wanted to see the Aquarium. The hotel is in a perfect location for doing downtown stuff like the Aquarium, the Children's Museum, the World of Coca Cola (?) or walking around the Olympic Park and Piedmont Park.

... and thus, did not have to contend with any commute traffic. The ride was surprisingly easy and we made good time getting to our campsite just south of Atlanta by dinner time. I wanted to watch the Niner game and the Emmys, so we picked a first class resort again. Kap did not do well for the Niners, but Andrew Luck, former Stanford player, was fantastic for the Colts, so all in all, it was a pretty good game. ...
We left our hotel in Atlanta and headed to the zoo. We have seen enough zoos but the kids were excited to visit this one because there was a baby rhino, gorilla, orangutan and pandas. It was drizzling when we got there and then started pouring. We were patient and got to see the baby gorilla and orangutan. We made it to Memphis as the sun was setting.
It is getting tougher to blog regularly. We did not have wifi at the Hilton because you had to pay for it and we were too cheap. We drove 6 hours on Thursday from Hilton Head but made good time and arrived in Atlanta at around 3 pm.
We drove straight the the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site. We spent about three hours here. I think the kids are starting to connect the dots in terms of the connection between the Civil War ...
