... casino called Soaring Eagle. It’s obvious that lots of money is spent there. It is owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe and opened in 1998. There is a hotel as well as entertainment venues. The place is open 24/7 and it was packed when we walked through. We stayed at Soaring Eagle RV Resort which is also owned by the Indian Tribe. ... We had a 4 hour drive ahead of us. Along the way we saw some giant windmills, cattails lined the roads. We crossed into the US at the Blue Water Bridge - I was terrified driving across it - I hate driving on bridges- white knuckles all the way. It took about a half hour at the customs place because of traffic. But looking over the bridge at Lake Huron was gorgeous.
When we got to Frankenmuth we were in for a surprise. It was a little town like a diamond in the rough. It's like a Bavarian Village and they were having a festival. The village was really pretty and we enjoyed walking around seeing the sights. There was a wooden covered bridge that we were able to walk through as well as lots of neat shops. OK so off we go to Iceland. We're leaving hot and humid Michigan for the cool spring like weather of Iceland. Everything went great until we got our first message fifteen minutes before the first leg of our journey telling us our flight had been delayed out of Detroit. But don't worry Delta would take care of it.
