Temple time!

... and the place is packed. It took me 3 hours of walking around the city to find us a room. I looked at perhaps 50 hotels and finally, out of pot luck someone offered me a room for less than i was prepared to pay. And just to celebrate we went out to have a pizza!

Spent few days in Yogyakarta mostly visiting the temples of Borobudur and Prambanan. It is holiday here so the town is very busy. ...

... visibility was only a few meters. All the shops and food stalls were closed the traffic lights did work but I had the feeling that nobody paid attention to them. Walking the few hundred meters from the car to my hotel was spooky, everybody had a mask or scarf around his face, the ground was one slippery slide made from ash cloud that left 3-5cm of ash and sand on roads. I made it to my new room and friendly people. My hair felt like having been sprayed with hairspray ...

Booked driver with car to temples and around...never even think of renting car and driving Yourself, it would be mission impossible due to traffic! Full day ( about 8h) managed Borobudur - takes about 2h to walk through., Prambanan, perfect in sun-set and can be managed in 1h if You are not history or architectual expert and Kreton-Sultan palace in city center - some 40min ...
