... hitting my back instead of my face. I tried my best to do my itinerary despite the weather. But it was just getting pretty gnarly now.

I got back in my car soaking wet, started it up with the heater blasting, then drove back to Kirkwall. Luckily, I dried fast since I was wearing waterproof pants and jacket.

I ended the day having fish and chips at a "chip shop" in Kirkwall. The fish was good but the chips (fries) were kind of stale. It was just ok.
