What can I give this Christmas?
This year 6,657 Christmas shoeboxes were donated to The Trussell Trust for distribution in Bulgaria. This is another record and a reminder that there are a lot of you out there that really care about others much less fortunate than yourselves. If the children and adults who will receive the presents this year were able, they'd say a huge thank you to everybody who gave shoeboxes or their time to help sort them. It's really good ...
The last day
It's gone so quickly and there is so much still to see....another return trip perhaps? It's been an interesting visit, different to that we expected perhaps, as mentioned before, contrasts from lavish demonstrations of (modern) wealth to remnants of the soviet past. Eye to eye with a bald eagle
Early start - bitterly cold! Duvet coat sheepskin boots and gloves. It was just a short drive from the campsite to the Hawk Conservancy.
Just look at the pictures and you'll see the fun. Lots of other birds - hawks and owls and vultures, but these are the highlights.
A long day - walking miles it seemed, kilos of day old chicks. And a bitterly cold half hour watching the professionals ...
How many cars can one man use?
... world had decided to drive along from Southampton to Winchester at the same time. And so we crawled along! But never mind we had plenty of time.
A few narrow roads following the A303 and we arrived. A campervan was in our spot!!!
Allocated another pitch - closer to the showers and loos - goodie.
