    Free airport shuttle both ways

    Rooms are small but clean enough, bathrooms are big in comparison. The hotel provides free airport shuttle, pick up and drop off, and reasonably priced transportation to city center.

    ... and pitcher plants were kept behind lock and key following a bout of thefts; apparently the rarer varieties can fetch quite a few thousand on the black market. Our favourite species of orchid is known locally as the ‘sexy lady’ orchid, for its distinctive shape – take look at the photos to see if you can spot why!

    That evening we made our way back towards KK, and for more night market food, so we’d be ready to jump on the ferry the next ...

    ... I was quite relieved to be taken to the door of my hotel rather than having to walk from the bus stop, a good 20 minute walk away in the torrential rain! I was sure the bus driver had said 8pm was the last bus but sometimes they get English numbers wrong! Its always best to get them to hold their fingers up as well just to be sure. I'd spotted sewing machine men at the market so took my broken canvas bag to be fixed while I waited on a little blue plastic ...
