Vegas Baby!
Day 6 & 7
We start of by digging in big time at the breakfast buffet in Furnace Creek (I never feel I get my moneys worth at these things) and then continue our journey. After a short stop at Rhyolite - a miner ghost town (supposedly the best known one, but extremely unimpressive) - we enter Nevada.
Since we still need stuff …
Viva Las Vegas
And now we will have that song stuck in our heads for days after writing that title...
Las Vegas was promised to Andrew for his 30th birthday, but we ended up having to go to New Zealand instead for a certain wedding. So when we knew we were coming back to New Zealand this year to get new working visas, it was first choice for a stopover ( …
Day 1 - The Day Lyn Forgot he was a Veggie!
I write this, sitting on our balcony in the Hotel Cosmopolitan. My head and body tell me it's 10.15am Sunday morning. Vegas, 56 floors below me ain’t agreeing! I can hear the thumping music of at least 3 night clubs, hear at least 5 police sirens blaring and the spectacle that is Vegas just keeps on partying like the Saturday night 2.15am it …
Day 2 - The Day we Shopped til we Dropped!
Well, shoppio we did, and then some! Obviously we needed a good breakfast to set us up for the day, so we were up at 6am (jetlag!) waiting for the Wicked Spoon buffet at the Cosmopolitan to open. There were only 2 people before us in the line; the Evans' were ready to eat! The buffet was your normal breakfast Vegas buffet fare….you know, …
I can't believe this day has actually come!!

A few notes about the journey before I get to the good stuff!
* We departed from Manchester Terminal 3 which has absolutely nothing in it!
* American Airlines flights are pretty stale. No seat …

Funky hotel, cool decor.. Lovely chill out music in Boulevard Pool. Excellent buffet. Excellent location. Worth paying extra for Fountain view balcony room.....fab views and jacuzzi bath, complete with kitchen area, but no plates, glasses, cutlery etc. Only downside....our room wasn't cleaned. Rang to complain and they came up and changed towels but didn't make beds.

I had the Wrap around terrace suite. Worth every penny! Possibly the best suite I've ever stayed in. Very large and very well appointed. Seems they have thought of everything. Especially liked the washer and dryer, which came in very handy, as I've been on a road trip, and needed to wash loads of clothes. Staff were excellent. The view from the HUGE terrace was lovely. Had a great view of the Ballagio fountains. Will deffo stay there again.
