The Burgundy Hotel is a sleek, modern boutique hotel. The rooms have a soft gray and white color scheme accented with a splash of color in the modern paintings. Chrome fixtures, nice linens, and attractive furnishings complete the appeal. The restaurant Table 28 is equally attractive and offers a taste tempting menu. Staff is excellent. Breakfast orders are taken in a lovely atrium setting.

Sulphur Springs is a community of about 16,000 located halfway between Dallas and Texarkana. I asked a couple of local residents if there were springs in the vicinity, but none were "on the radar"! The city got its name because when the area was first settled, springs of sulphur water were abundant. Due to population growth the springs were …

Driving from Henryetta we called into a small town Checotah (home of Carrie Underwood), which we just happen to come across.
Griff spoke to a truckie who was connecting his trailer to his truck, just blokes talk I suspect.
We stayed and had lunch at Diner 96 and had a chat to a couple of local ranchers. It appeared the whole diner was …

Larry came here to bring Sue to the airport, so we spent our first night here going out to dinner with him and then relaxing by the shore of the Arkansas River, watching the dancing lights on the bridges and the occassional barge.

A four fun days with the Sairavan Gang on the shores of the Arkansas River. Happy Hours every evening at our place (with LOTS of uninvited noseeums/chiggers), and a great dinner in Downtown Little Rock at the Flying Fish.
          Heading to Branson tomorrow!
