... Then the memory started to kick in and we reached Lancaster Grove. No 10 was still there. It had received a coat of paint and was now obviously sectioned off by floors. That is there were 3 buttons beside the door. In my day there were 2 bed sitters to each floor. We had the rear of the third floor. Memories came flooding back. Today it is very quiet tree lined street. I don't remember many trees in the past but it was a good area to live ...

Spent the following day walking around the 'nice' parts of Newcastle, which were indeed quite beautiful. And well worth a visit. From Newcastle I went to visit the wonderful Turner Brechin family in Durham. While they all worried and fussed that I would be bored, I had a brilliant time. The town is very quiet, but ...

... a few grumbles from the kids who then later bought about 10 postcards each (so secretly they had really enjoyed it) :)

Had a very delicious and relaxed turkey day at Grace & Jim's. Claude the dog has had all his shots and is allowed to hit the pavement on his first official walks. Claude's walks were more like "drags" at this point but I'm sure he'll get more into it in a few weeks. I had been fighting some sniffles all week but by the end of the day ...

        ... queen.

Brilly Brilly what did you do there? While the Queen is off
holidaying at Balmoral we thought we would checked out Buckingham Palace. And
no the corgies were with her so I couldn't frighten them under the chair.

Buckingham Palace WHOW that is something to be seen. We had
access to the 19 staterooms which is where she entertains, saw her coronation
dress, crown etc and the centre courtyard where all the carriages come into when
        in use ...

Not too much to bore you with on this one.

More to just say a big thank you to all that made it on this evening, for the lovely cards and gifts and an even bigger thank you for those who made that extra effort to make it special (you know who you are).

Also - just needed this entry to show the starting point of the trip :)

        Love to you all!!
