Diggin' up the Roots
This summer, I will be visiting the towns where both sets of my paternal great-grandparents were born. As Jews, they were not welcome in those towns, which is why they left for America. They were certainly not welcome wherever they came from before that, which is why they ended up in places like Kolomyia, Ukraine and Iasi, Romania.

New Year's Eve in Miami Beach
A lot of people came for the weekend to Miami to catch some sun and of course to celebrate New Year's. We spent that evening packing the boards with bubble wrap and filled the board-bags with additional clothes for cushioning, and transported them in Gary's van to the shipping company the next day, with Ray hoping and praying that nothing happen to his beloved boards en route to Tortola.
