Feel the wind in your hair and the bugs of Britain.

Up early. Packed and ready to ride.

6am - Ros prepared a gourmet breakfast - berries and yoghurt followed by a cooked breakky and an English Breakfast.

We shot off early to miss the traffic on our way to Shrewsbury. This was the first real test ride for 'the crossing of' the European border next week. It ended with a slightly sore ass (pol), gravel skids and hunger pains from the 3 hour trip but a ...

... Marco her husband is away sadly so we won't meet him. She made us a cuppa and some cake. Lovely welcome. After we unpacked we went back outside with cameras to capture the grounds. So nice. We drove about an hour to meet up with them at Jack Mutton Inn at Oswestry, Shropshire, where they would be moored. It was ...

... yes it was very clunky. Bugger. It would have to be stripped down and repaired. The only problem was that I didn't have the time to do it as we were about to head back East. I took the engine to some specialists in Aberwristslit and asked them to let me know how much it would cost for a complete rebuild. A couple of weeks later I received a fax off them - telling me it would cost Two Thousand Pounds. That seemed excessive and I asked them to ...

... still hot day. At 10:30 Martin the vineyard owner appeared and we had an hours talk about the history of the area, Wroxeter roman town , the history of his vineyard and how to plant and grow vines !!! This was followed by a wine tasting of 5 of his wines and then lunch... His witty banter with lots of stories kept us amused for the 3 1/2 hours we were there. Lunch was great, a home made chicken and ham pie with new potatoes, salad ...
