... if you can call it that, began! We decided to take the kids into Tenbury for a swim at the local indoor pool as each Friday night they hold a fun night at the pool for school aged kids up to about 16 years old. Due to the road works in town the main road into town was closed to all traffic and the diversion route was a 5km trip along a single and very narrow lane boarded by large hedges and the odd external wall of a few ...

Yesterday was spent entirely at the cottage with school and then exploring the property further.

We walked our legs off in the Lake District. Now we're looking forward to a change of pace—we’ll step back in time to what once was an Anglo-Saxon village.

Shrewsbury is a picturesque market town rich with history. It was an important trading center in Anglo-Saxon time; its wealth originating from wool. The town could be well defended because of the bend in ...

... not see the hotel and ended up driving around for another hour trying to get back to the hotel. This involved a number of one way, narrow streets with very fast drivers and my GPS telling me to make u-turns. I finally found a parking lot to stop at, enter the new address into the GPS and head out again. When I had "reached my destination" it was no where to be found. So I made another lap, and another, and another, before I finally found ...
