... was our wedding Anniversary! He didn't say it was 10 days ago! She gave us a free glass of champagne. I got all emotional...I didn't know I was such a good actor...Helen Mirren has nothing on me! Had a good flight, good landing, fast through passport control, luggage arrived quickly, met with car by Emma's parents, got down to Southampton quickly in time for 9am ferry - it's Cowes week so ferries are very busy - told to wait until 11am! ... 25th May

The sun came out and 7 of us (Allan, Carol, Sue, Karen, Freda, Jane & Pete) headed to the Isle of Wight for the day. Enjoyed the short trip to Ryde, especially with all the sailing boats out on the Solent taking advantage of the lovely day. We missed the train from the end of the pier, so had to walk instead. Didn't know a pier could be so long! Had a quick bite to eat before catching the bus to Osborne House, Queen ...

Well, this probably isn't going to be that exciting for an inaugural entry. We've been sitting in the same spot in Royal Clarence Marina for six months to wait out winter, doing everything we could think of to our sailing yacht, Jade, in the hope we'll be able to avoid any and all scary situations, and now in just over a week we'll finally be setting off.

As soon as the weather looks good ...
