A small city, Chiang Rai was a peaceful break from what has been a busy first couple of weeks. Much smaller than its neighbour Chiang Mai and definitely quieter, we have enjoyed a couple of nice laid back days here. We arrived here by bus from Chiang Mai, which we thought was going to take us 6.5 hours... Turns out it was only 3!
