Hello from Chiang Kong - a town in the very north of Thailand by the Mekong River in the District of Chiang Rai. We are across the Mekong River from Laos and tomorrow we will cross the border, board a long boat and cruise down the river where it winds through Laos f - arriving in Luangprebang on Tuesday afternoon. I am very excited to visit Luangprebang having heard lots of stories from friends who have visited this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
