What we had in store was a pretty interesting bus ride. How they fit so many people on things of transportation I'll never know. Three people to 2 seats, people sitting on little plasic chairs in the center isle... Luckily nobody needed to join us in our seats.

We arrived in Ninh Binh at 5am, it was raining, cold and almost dark so we weren't happy bunnies!!! We checked into the first guest house we found, $12 a night but it was really nice. We went back to bed for a few hours as neither of us slept very well on the overnight bus from Hoi An, the beds were TINY.

So we left Hanoi after our lovely trip to Halong Bay and made our way by bus to Ninh Binh!!! We arrived at about 10pm after a bus journey from hell, we were shoved from one bus to another then onto another and what should of only taken about 2hrs eventually took close to 4.
