Home safely in Balham. Lovely train ride. Interesting from Elephant and Castle though. Work being done on the Victoria line so all trains replaced with buses. ( I blame the elephant.) Very efficient though... And I saw lots and lots of suburbs that I hadn't seen. I enjoyed it. Packed the case and hand luggage. Taxi booked for 8am. ...

      Horse riding in Hyde Park.

( The Wimps! ) Bought lunch and sat in a gazebo and had a great chat with a Scottish man who could not believe I was having a cold lunch on a day like that. ... no peeling paint, no pot holes, everything looks clean and spic.

It took about half an hour to reach the zoo- it is not far as the crow flies, but the lanes are so narrow that it is impossible for two buses to pass, let alone a bus and a tractor. These leads to a lot of stops, where one vehicles squashes itself into the wall while the other squeezes past, very carefully.

It did not cost much to enter the zoo; perhaps $20 in $AUD, which surprised ...

Trading bikinis and flip flops for wooly hats and snow boots, the time had come to return to the nest, feast on Marmite and Branston Pickle, and remember just how amazing Waitrose is.

But there's no rest for this wicked Badger...and after a night or two it was time to jump on a plane to Jersey, to join the rest of the family in helping Mummy Badger celebrate turning 65 grand old years of age.

Too many Badgers never spoil the broth, but I think Jersey wasn't ...
