We stayed at the Thalassaki 1st 2 weeks of October 2005. It is the popular Greek 'village' arrangement with ground floor or 1st floor apartments in separate blocks. I am not particularly keen on this arrangement as only about 1 in 3 will be in a good position (Pool View etc), the rest are tucked away and a lot of the ground floor apartments looked a bit dingy.
The rooms themselves (we had a studio) are quite clean and comfortable with a Telly, 2 single beds, sofa bed, small cooker, fridge, toaster, kettle - but no microwave. Decent bathroom with a good shower and plenty of hot water. Also free air-conditioning unit.
The place itself has a nice pool area with plenty of sunbeds, a couple of bars and a restaurant. Even though the place was full, it seemed fairly quiet with a mixture of all ages - certainly no large groups of noisy lads.
Location is good, it is on Nissi Avenue heading towards Nissi beach. You can walk to Ayia Napa centre or the harbour in 15 mins, there are loads of shops and bars straight outside. You can also walk for miles on the sea front on a concrete pathway.
Weather was terrific, average mid eighties with 1 cloudy day in 14.
Ayia Napa is a decent resort if a little tatty in places, there is a good bus service to Protaras or Nissi Beach.
Superb should be 5 star

Myself and my husband are both in our 60s now, and, having recently been to Ibiza with our children and their families, and enjoyed it thoroughly, decided we would try Aiya Napa. Before visting Ibiza, we were very sceptical to say the least, having heard the stories coming from the area. However, we were very surprised, and are eternally grateful to our grandchildren for persuading us to try a "beach party". Aiya Napa was even better! Among our friends we are unique in that we still regularly go out, and do like a good drink (or two). The pool was very good, and deep enough to jump into. The nightlife is not as good as Ibiza, but still well worth mentioning. Going into town you are made to feel very welcome by the bar hustlers. Although some people find this off putting, if you accept their invitations you often get the best seats in the bar! Drinks are generally cheap, and despite our age we were made to feel right at home. I would recommend this resort to anyone who, like ourselves, enjoys a good time, regardless of age (surely we are not unique in the whole of Britain??). Have fun!!
Excellent accomodation and great location

2 week stay in July 2004, so peak season and the place was full. Accomodation was clean, adequately furnished and the a/c was superb; a major consideration in Cyprus during the summer. Pool area was great, 2 seperate pools, if a little cramped at times and we had a couple of 'sunbed moments' when it was difficult to find somewhere to lay out...but these were isolated incidents.
Great location as it's a pleasant 10-15 minute amble into the centre of Ayia Napa, which means you can choose from many bars and restaurants on the way in if you want to actively avoid the overcrowded and slightly manic centre with all the bar hustlers etc. But its a great place to take advantage of the cheap drinks and get some 'fringe' night life !
Overall we really enjoyed our stay and decided to go back to Cyprus this year as a result.
Great Hotel

My wife & I last went to Ayia Napa in 1994 when we first met. We decided to return last year after a disasterous holiday near Torrevieja (south coast of Spain) when the private complex we stayed in was repeadtedly targetted by burglars. We decided to go away again a few weeks later & went to Ayia Napa. We were both slightly apprehensive after our previous nightmare holiday. Well Thalassaki didn't disappoint. I would go far as saying this must be one of the best hotel locations in the resort. It is situated between the best beaches & the main resort. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the beach & 10 minutes to the resort, absolutely perfect. It was so peaceful, the pool was lovely & staff friendly. My wife & I are both party animals, but don't be put off by any reputation this resort may receive because it is ideal for couples who also seek peace/relaxation. We have been to the Med many times & this must be one of the best Hotels we've stayed in & are thinking of returning in July 2005.
Fantastic holiday at the Thalassaki Apts.

We are just back (1-8 May) from the Thalassaki Apts, Ayia Napa, Cyprus. What can I say. Fantastic apartments, beautiful gardens, centrally located on Nissi Avenue near to the beach and the coastal path which runs right along the coast. Worth a 5-10 minute walk to Sandy Bay as the beach at the Thalassaki is not very good. We went to Clarabel's flambe restaurant a couple of time - YOU MUST GO - the best food I have tasted in a long while.
It has been 12 years since we have been to Cyprus and I forgotten how genuinely nice the Cypriot people are. If you go anywhere this Summer go to Cyprus.
Two thumbs up!!

Thalassaki was brilliant! Such a clean and pleasant place to have as a home for a week. The rooms are very spacious and private. The pool area is fantastic. The main square is far enough away to enjoy a peaceful night's sleep but close enough to walk to on a night. You'll need taxi's to get to Nissi Beach but if you dont mind stony sand, then Thalassaki is ON a beach! I'd definitely go back there!!!
Excellent!

I would recommend this accomadation to anyone. It is excellent value and is ideal for families. I went in aug 04 and the weather was fab! the 1 bed ap is lovely with a 4 star kitchenette and Tv, air con( 5 pound deposit) adn everything. The bed is very comfortable and relaxed. It is only 5-10 minutes if that from Aiya Napa shops, bars and restaurant. It is rated much better than Panas Village, close by. You can have a sea view or maybe your own garden. Thalassaki has its oen daytime and eveing entertaiment programess and the entertainers are brilliant and funny and friendly. The staff are very helpful. I had a fantastic time with my family and We are going again next year 100%!
Lovin' It!!!

We have been to the Thalassaki every year since it has opened. You may think "sad", but we love it. It is clean and tidy and the staff are really friendly. However best avoided after October as the place is a ghost town.
We prefer May-June and Sept-Oct.
Check out the Japanese Restaurant up the little road opposite and on the left - it's fantastic food and the kids will be amused by the various tricks performed by the chefs. Not to be missed.
