    ... area started as trappers and as the economy for hides declined they moved to cattle. However there was insufficient grazing along with the hay needs they had for the severe winters. Therefore the folks started taking in extended tourists for hunting, fishing, and horseback trips into the mountains to meet their economic needs. The dude ranch industry has supplanted cattle as the primary industry. They have also added skiing opportunities for the area.

    ... lives had unfolded to bring us to this place. She was in finance but spent every extra penny on exploring the world. She had done lots of Europe, Iceland, Bali. We got back to the truck, I cleared off the passenger seat, handed her a bunch of grapes and drove back to Teton Village. (Home of Jackson Hole ski resort.)
