A Bit of A Low!!

The next day, I made Mick some pancakes for breakfast with the little pancake mix there was left and then we had a hardcore planning day as there's little else to do at this end of the strip. Hotels are really cheap during the week but almost double in price at the weekend which is why we are staying at the hostel over the weekend. We booked the …

Hi Our last stop on our travels. Boooooo! We're in Las Vegas til Thursday, when we have to catch a bus back to Los Angeles for our flight back home. Lucky for us its roasting hot here, so we'll get our tan topped up for coming home. As we've been here before, we haven't been out and about to see stuff all that much. Just been bathing at the …

Viva Las Vegas

... I ate what I could and made a heavy delivery of the leftovers to the homeless guy down the street, who had just gotten a free beer from someone so he was stoked.

We killed the afternoon by checking out different hotels and casinos and playing more blackjack before seeing a Cirque du Soleil show. The next day we were pretty ready for something different, but we had to wait for Jonas's good high school friend to get off ...

... the border but it was a little embarrassing talking to immigration. We were asked how long we were staying for, just a few hours we reply, sorry. It was a cold, wet miserable day but we managed to get out in Stanley Park which was pretty cool, Alex went for a run in the rain like a sucker, but Liz was more silly and walked in the rain, we were rather wet by the time we got back to the car, but we saw racoons! It was so cool, they were adorable, they followed us a ...

... the Bellagio - my favourite - a haven of cool marble, peaceful gardens and old world charm. Ahhh .. i could live here ... but no, we had to head back to our lodging for the night which involved a 30 minute walk back down the strip in the searing heat! It's little wonder that we both came down with terrible head colds!

Luckily, hotel rates in Vegas drop considerably during the week and we were able to relocate further down the strip to a very swanky ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Terrible's Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

Love Terrible's.... great room, great price!!

    from anonymous

I have stayed at Terrible's on business several times, and have always been pleased. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, the staff has always been pleasant and it is an awesome deal for the money!!! I like not having to walk thru the casino to get to your room as it has convenient parking close to room entrances. For the money and location it is a superb deal...

    Truly Terrible

    from anonymous

I spent two nights at Terribles and it really lived up to its name. I was sent there on business by the cheap company I was working for. If I had known in advance where they were putting me, I would have paid the difference to stay somewhere acceptable.

When I checked into my room there was a fly buzzing over my bed. I checked out the casino and it was truly depressing. Many compulsive gambler types who looked like they were in the film leaving las vegas.

The food was low quality crap. The steak was only a couple of dollars but not worth any more.

Needless to say, I spent most of my free time at places in Vegas WORTH GOING TO like the Hard Rock down the road or the Palms.

Basically, if you have no concept of quality, then maybe you will like this place. If you want to have a real nice time, go elsewhere. There are too many options in Vegas to waste your time and money at this depressing pit!

    Absolute Terrible Vacation

    from anonymous

For my son's 21st birthday we spruged and took him to Vegas for the first time. Naturally, he wanted to see the shows. They were a bit pricey so we looked for a place to stay that was less expensive. I will agree Terrible's was cheap, but as often we find... you get what you pay for. This time it cost us a small fortune. To make a long story short. A sprinkler head in the bathroom burst while my son was in the shower, causing the room to flood. Management there at Terrible's quickly determined it was obviously not a faulty sprinkler head and charged my debit card $1000.00 in damages. This is almost a months wages. Supposedly my son either hung his t-shirt from the sprinkler head or while in the shower he applied direct heat to it causing the sprinkler to activate. Every attorney I've talked to there in Vegas wants to make this case into a personal injury case and go for bigger bucks... I don't feel this is right... but we were not responsible for the room flooding either. I would appreciate some feedback on this "Terrible" situation. Thank you, JKlein

    Great value for money

    from bren990

We stayed here for 3nights from 17th Sept 2003.We had already booked 5 nights at the Hilton as part of our big American trip and were supposed to be going to Lake Havasu. We both love Vegas so much that we made a last minute change and amnaged to secure a really good deal(Hilton was full). Now Terribles is not the Las Vegas Hilton but it does not have their prices either.A beer is max $2.00 and if you want to go to heaven try the $7.99 prime rib special.beautiful and includes a beer. Those are the positives and there are a few negatives. Our room was overlooking the car park and flamingo road and there was a bit of traffic noise.I suppose if you live in the city it would not bother you.We were awoken after our first night at 5.30 a.m by a plane taking off directly overhead this was followed by 4 more over the next hour. However there was no problem the next 2 nights. We were on a no smoking floor but I could still smell smoke drifting up from lower floors. The pool is small and cold. Not to be too negative we had a really good time at Terribles the rooms are a very good size and overall excellent value for money. We would definately go back if our budget would not stretch to the Hilton. And that prime rib....wow.We left for one night at grand canyon followed by a return to vegas for 5 nights at the hilton.read my opinion in that section

    Nice place.

    from anonymous

Came here last Thanksgiving (Nov, 2002). The price was amazingly low for the Thanksgiving break. Nice rooms, casino, and restaurants (the kids loved having a McDonald's in the hotel). The location is great. I would recommend it to anyone.

    Great Value

    from anonymous

Terrible's has everything the strip hotels do, but on a smaller scale- except the room- the room was just as big or bigger than more expensive places, and clean. A great, easy to navigate floor, buffet, pool and complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport, AND the strip. Pleasant employees and prices were normal, not over-inflated. Overall, a good bargain, and no extra trouble for slightly off the path.

    No Return Trip

    from LaChykita

Terrible's generally lives up to it's name.

The positive side- the rooms have been redone and the house keeping services were very good.

Once you left the room it was ofen an odessey. Questions were rarely answered and when you were sent to the next person they were not any more knowledgable. No one went the extra mile. There is obviouly a lack of good management and training.

It is quite a distance to the strip and there are no cabs in sight.

Getting a cab through the service desk is a hassle. There is a bus but it seems to have about a 1/2 to an hour wait.

The dining is OK for the price. Service there can be great to average.

Not a place I would return to.

    Best Players' club

    from azztheboss

The best service for your money! We stayed there a couple of time already and just loved it. The rooms are oversized and come with all the amenities you can expect. The players club is by far the most rewarding in Las Vegas, Just by signing up you will get 1000 points which is enough to redeem a free buffet breakfast or much more. The pool area is very nice and there is also 2 nice jacuzzis. And best of all the price is very reasonnable! Will go back!
