We have landed in Catania and jumped in our Fiat Panda. Apparently the driving in Sicily is atrocious but we think we have acquired enough experience in our previous road trips not to worry about it. In the end, the driving skills we have needed were the ones learned in our hometowns; aggressive driving in very narrow streets.

From our short stay in Syracuse, we have concluded there is a booming industry ...

This cathedral is truly a rarity. One can see the transformation this sacred place has gone through from an ancient Greek temple to a cathedral with Medieval and Baroque architecture. Its metamorphosis throughout history is evident just by looking at the architecture of this church.

... occurred. Christians took this central and important location, filled in the columns, filled the space with their art, and used it as a church. A place of worship for the virgin Artemis became a place of worship for the Virgin Mary. This building is a testament to the importance, and maybe even dependence, of religion in Roman culture, no matter the ...

It probably sounds boring but we have really loved our sea days. There is lots to do on board if you feel like it. Or you can just relax. We've done a bit of both going to the gym (once!); playing trivia (once), having a jacuzzi or just reading and looking at the ocean. Because there are no travel stories today, I'm going to dedicate all the pictures to the food. As I've mentioned, it has been sensational with the crowning glory a mini degustation. ...
