... The guys at XXMiglia really pull out all the stops here, serving a gorgeous array of local pastries, toast, cereal, yogurt and juices, not to mention hot items like eggs and sausages, pieces of cheese and sliced of cold meat. On top of that, Angelo was offering us freshly-make caffe and cappuccino! Add in some fresh peaches and tiny pears that tasted as though they had just been picked from the tree, and you have yourself an AWESOME start to ...

I cunningly kept the address of Gelateria Costanza until the end of our visit, ...

... It had to be rebuilt after an earthquake in 1653 and besides beautiful churches, has various cave dwellings that were inhabited as late as the 1950s. A beautiful town! We had an expensive, but not particularly remarkable dinner at Osteria Tre Colli, followed by the most magnificent gelato -Paolo's pistachio gelato was like peanut butter in terms of it nuttiness and consistency.... Divine!

Tomorrow, we are waking up a little earlier to go to Noto before ...

... garden, but has had a horrific history including being used as a prison for 5 thousand prisoners who died due to the plague. The quarry is about 30 metres deep and about 300 metres wide and the same length. It was covered with a roof but the roof was destroyed in an earthquake in the 16th century. While in the quarry, we visited a cave that had been cut out of the rock. The cave is about 40 metres deep and about ...
