... too. Our room was very nice,
if low lighting, and dad had a bed too. The bathroom was mud brick and the sink
had a brass bowl that looked like gold so I felt very luxurious.
Dad and I went
to get some water and we had a little look around. People were all over the
place, lots of bikes squeezing through the streets and lanes. Tiny shop fronts
and light bulbs hanging over them, carts selling fruit (dad got some cactus
fruit to try, delicious though lots ...
From the fun flats of Marrakech...we made our way to the High Atlas mountains for well...mountains of magnificent hiking and views.
Jebel Toubkal stands at 4200m above sea level and at that is the highest most point in northern Africa and also a bit of a mission! We made it up the mighty mountain in a few days and did some sleeping, sun burning and Scrabble in there as well. An absolutely incredible adventure!
Back down and all set to embark on a road trip to Fez!

... reminds me of India and all the experiences i had there that live on in my mind but it is an odd amalgamation of the western and traditional. The main square is a magical place where all is alive by night and oh so chilled and interesting in the day.
We did a couple of days exploration of all it had to offer and then onwards AND upwards...

What if the boys have a sister tomorrow night…..! Susan figures a whole damn neighbourhood of kids will be at that turn in the alleyway tomorrow morning waiting for the crazy tourist to pass. I wonder if they’ll be OK with 2010 Olympic pins?... I’ve run out ...
... reaching dead ends. We sat watching a local soccer game and fed almonds to little Morrocan kids like they were monkeys. We also visited the old palace and sat in a peaceful palm covered court yard just soaking up the rays. At 7pm we headed off to meet our Morrocan friends along with another Australian guy we had befriended at breakfast in the hostel. We met at the same restaurant where we sat on the gorgeous rooftop terrace. Khalid and Simo had met two Swiss ...
Marrakech, Morocco myates... originates in Palestine. So here I am, and sometimes I do wonder if I stepped on board a Boeing 737 to get here, or was it really a time machine. Luckily, every few minutes you get almost run over by a motorcycle in those narrow winding streets, so the time machine is kind of out of the question, but then you walk a little further, take a side lane into some spooky neighbourhood and start to wonder again. There ...

... international ones. Quite impressive is the fact that at the place prices are nearly half and conditions more benevolent in comparison with the offer on Internet - poor guys who rented the car online! Best quote probably comes from Avis, but we need something special: deposit as low as possible and paid by cash, unlimited mileage and driving age 21 years [unf. still not enough for Karolina]. This is not so easy to fulfil, thus in the end we take a not-extremely-cheap quote from Sixt ...
Marrakech, Morocco mys... dousing with the bucket follows for each of us, then a shampoo using the product I brought from the hotel. Next we lie down in turn and each get a thorough soaping using a softer, fishnet type material to apply the bar of soap from the hotel. Another rinse cycle. Now comes the massage, and I am horrified when I witness what my client is put through. He is practically screaming in agony. It is not any kind of massage I have ever experienced before. It is more like a sadistic ...
