... Gesell. The last 20 miles riding is past a massive pine forest, planted apparently by a German immigrant many years ago and now extremely popular as a holiday home building area for wealthy people from BA.

Entering VG at 5pm, the town immediately seems attractive and relaxing, with lots of pine trees along the road side and big gardens around the houses. The Sat Nav is taking us straight the seafront and we decide to park up on a grassy area near the ocean while ...
Villa Gesell, Central Argentina, Argentina stevekiwibelton... to the campsite all ready for our first night in our new tent. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night we were awoken by a huge cracking noise, which we discovered the next morning was one of our brand new tent poles breaking in two. We were now the proud owners of a very lopsided tent :(, and to top it all off, it had started raining (nothing ever goes smoothly, does it?). We ended up having a lopsided tent for two days while we waited for the rain to stop, as we didn ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina benguigue... but we both agreed that it was probably out last foray into the world of intestine cuisine. In any case, we both really liked the town. It was beautiful and laid back and felt more like a traditional honeymoon. I also think it would be a really different experience in-season when all the beachside patios were full of holidayers. It would probably be excellent! Well, that's about it for Argentina for us...off to Uruguay.
Villa Gesell, Central Argentina, Argentina thelepkisWe spent a few days at this coastal town, about 5 hours south of Buenos Aires, as a stopping off point to Puerto Madryn. The weather was lovely so we had a couple of very long walks on the beach, along with a few good seafood dinners. As we were off-season the town was quiet but there were enough people there for the weekend to make it feel lively enough. A really attractive place to chill out for a couple of days.
Pinamar, Central Argentina, Argentina dymphna9817... time in there, it was left locked up all day, windows and all and it never really improved. Here, we´ve got a great big window that opens to the garden on the top floor with tons of ventilation. We love it. Of course things are more expensive than we expected... especially bus rides. I think our plan is to deal with it by taking overnight buses long distances and not have to pay for rooms those nights... not such a bad idea since ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina kstuart... murdered, and all their other songs started to sound like ´cum-bye-arghhhhh´ we could take no more. The ipods came out and were cranked up to the max for the rest of the journey. When we finally escaped the asylum of the bus we found Camp Afrika next to the bus terminal and so decided to camp for the first time. The camping was fine, a little way off the road and in amongst the trees, but the rave next door ...
Villa Gesell, Argentina jayandmandy... and slept all day and then at night partied until about 7 AM every day then went back to our house where we slept until we were dragged a la Playa (beach) to go sleep some more. The only problem was the intense amount of wind and it got WICKED cold at night, but only because of the wind otherwise it was very warm. After hanging out with my cousins for the first two nights I kinda driffted off and did my own thing and found people that I actually enjoyed hanging out with ...
Pinamar, Argentina nescalada... big screen TV`s showing commercials of theirs or something of the sort, along with beautiful models standing next to each car waiting to tell you the features of that particular automobile. Or perhaps they`re just there to lure a rich guy in and then an actual salesmen comes out and works him into a deal of some type. I`m not really sure how it works, but it does seem to work somehow.
Pinamar, Argentina curtisejtaylor... kids dune-riding on ATVs, we had the beach to ourselves again. Went back to the hotel, got cleaned up, and went to Carilo, the super-exclusive resort down the way, for lunch. Exclusivity is primarily granted by the fact that there are no paved roads in Carilo. Zero. None. Not even the road that links it to the highway. So, without a 4x4, cars are very likely to sink into the sand roads! We parked as soon as we could and got out and ...
