... tent or portable cabin for warmth and coffee, and a bucket. We traveled beside Lake Champlain for a lot of its 200km length. It's huge.

At the Canadian border it took over an hour to clear customs, , then we chugged into Montreal and caught a taxi to our apartment. It took about an hour before we could get in. Had to buy some groceries. I was so tired I could hardly walk, but it was snowing lightly, so I cheered up.

The first
exhibit: abstraction. A lot of colourful lines on canvas, a lot of unknown
shapes and seemingly arbitrary titles. It was, in a word, beautiful. In a
sentence, beautiful but I'm sure I didn't get any of the meaning the artist was
trying to convey. I enjoyed the exhibit immensely, nonetheless. The second
