... concert was beginning -- there are two everyday (at 1pm and 3pm). It was a program of Patriotic Music (as today is Veteran's Day), so I decided to begin instead at the Visitor's Center, watching the brief and fairly cheesy video. It did provide some background about the gardens and tower. Then, I started up the path to the top of the hill. The gardens definitely reflect local plants -- and paths wander through the palms and flowering shrubs as one climbs the hill ...
Lake Wales, Florida, United States ahartry... way out!

Halloween night itself is so festive with all the neighbors (American spelling for effect) are out and about and all the neighborhood kidds meet as a house and go around trick or treating together...again, going all out with outfits they look great!

We had such a wonderful week of quality time with the fan-dam but all too soon 1 November rolled around and our amazing trip was over! We sadly made the trip back to the airport for the real final trip home...
Tampa, Florida, United States theblakes... news. Why is it always horrible news? This is probably why I don't watch it all that often. Too depressing.
Our connecting flight arrived and we finally got to board. The plane had an odor to it that I can't explain. Thankfully, our flight only took about 25 mintues or so. We were finally home. Or close enough for it to count. We couldn't get in touch with Bruce, the owner of Gram's Place, so we took a taxi there. He had a room waiting for ...

The next few days are kind of flexible.

Around Thursday-ish, we need to be back at Ramstein to (hopefully) catch a Friday flight home.

That's the rough plan. We wanted to have enough room for error since space-a is unpredictable... and so are we.
Lakeland, Florida, United States javawarlordWe both woke up at 0730 am. Restless all night; nervous energy. We had breakfast at the Gold Lion. Apparently, Conrad had eaten there previously for lunch. Hopefully lunch was better b/c the breakfast was less than memorable. But, it was food. Running last minute errands picking up a few things at Wal-Mart ...
Tampa, Florida, United States themattsAfter a long day of work for both of us, we finally hit the road at 0630 pm. The dogs were less than happy with us, as evidenced by the pictures. They knew once all of the luggage was in the living room that something was up. Chloe was actually trembling! But, Marv will take good care of them, as well as good care of my ...
Tampa, Florida, United States thematts... drink cart repeatedly smash into ones elbows and ankles by a driver that uncannily gives off the vibe of an elementary school cafeteria woman asking whether you want the goulash or the macaroni surprise. Ew. As for food, no lunch lady carts there either. The flight attendants actually carried the snacks in baskets. I was impressed with the variety of both drink and food. From Dunkin Donuts coffee to Arizona Tea and Terra Blue Chips to 100 Calorie packs of ...

Lakeland, Florida, United States l4hcic... have bought two seats. We made it back to Orlando on time - and got back to Jim and Troy's house before midnight. Saturday, we went to pick up Murphy. Thank you, Beth and Matt, for watching Murphy and checking our mail! :) None of us wanted the trip to end because we were having such a good time. Well, we'll just have to go back again sometime real soon. Thanks, Jim and Troy, for making our trip that much more fun! Just think about MC, LMC whenever you are having a ****** day!
Las Vegas, Nevada, United States kcossin... the land all hint at your location. The docks were easy to locate with just simple directions printed out before we left. (This was before fancy in car GPS systems on every dash in America.) As we approached the dock, I was amazed when my father pointed out the ship. I had been on a boat or two before, but I never expected to see something this large! After a quick and well ...
