... to travelers is now cutting people. We were kind of upset considering we didn't get to say goodbye to the people we had been working with and hadn't taken any pictures because we thought we had plenty of time. So, we decided to stick it out one more day at the holiday park and hung out with a few people in the Backpackers and left the next morning.
Oh, and I cut Brian's hair into a mullet. This the before picture.
Well we arrived on the Slopes safe but sound, not after i had a half hour crying attack because of the aurdeal i had tracveling up the mountain. It al began on the morning of Friday the 19th September, we were heading up the mountain to go sking/snowboarding when we came acorss some fog and bad weather i wanted to turn around and go back and run for our lives but Sein insited we go on, good job i suppose, because when we finally reached the top of the ...
Methven, New Zealand sein_o... we had an outgoing ticket from New Zealand with higher luggage allowances he allowed us to have and extra 10kg so instead of over $500, we only had to pay around $400. We were a little annoyed with this but since we were able to get our tickets on a seat sale we realized that we still were cheaper than buying the tickets at full price. Not a nice start to the trip. The flight was uneventful and we arrived in Christchurch to more cold, wet and wind. We were ...
Methven, South Island, New Zealand rlholthof... sort of cover all bases but having worked for a pharms company within engineering in the UK there were alot of holes in places where there shouldnt have been holes so i think i will have to make a few suggestions especially reguarding engineering and lifty practices!!! The rest of the day was spent doing avalanche training, being briefed by ski patrol and trying on our uniforms which i have to say are awsome.. I will officially be the milk tray man, lets just ...
Springfield, New Zealand sneekybeeky... and a washer and dryer. Life is great. We have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and a dining room. What could you want? we have a view of the Mt. Hutt and the golf course. Perfect! Tomorrow golf here again and then on to Christchurch the following day. Then bye bye NZ and hello Australia! Later, the travelers.
Methven, New Zealand jimandlee... back we made the most of the clear river water to cool off. On the way back we saw some other people stopped by the side of the road doing what I have named the "yippee, wide open spaces" stance. Good to know I am not the only one that keeps doing this. A sudden stop at a pull off point meant we had a great view of a braided river. STUNNING.
Rakaia Gorge, New Zealand max_moo... is a mankey whisky thing and a can of redbull in a shot), and the good part of a bottle of wine down me from 9am till 5am was fun. didnt even have that much of a hangover the next day haha. am going to fox glacier tonight will get there tomoro morning and do a few hours worth of hiking then off to queens town to do some snow boarding or maybe skiing, not made my mind up yet. anywho must be off now, take care xxxxxxxxxxx
Auckland, New Zealand craigjukes... ho-down dancers. As stupid as it sounds, I think we all had a blast. Every face I saw was smiling and giggling. After we were done acting like a bunch of circus freaks they talked to us about fear. The FullOn crew told us we shouldn't let fear control our lives. Then we piled in the bus and drove to Washpen Falls. There was a cabin there and we ate this ham and cheese pie-like thing. As weird as it sounds it was EXTREMELY good. Then ...
Christchurch, New Zealand p2pwichita... Somers and then take a gravel road for 40 minutes to a place we could park and see Edoras from a distance. It is also possible to take a tour there but we decided to go it alone and try the independent route. We reached it after a long and bumpy drive and immediately recognised Mount Sunday as Edoras. It was so exposed there and really windy - apparently they had problems ...
Methven, New Zealand vblowry2000... burrow without having to wait until dark, and then home for tea and medals. Very civilised.
When I booked the hostel near Twizel for Mount Cook we were recognised over the phone, and on arriving were presented with a bottle of wine for being their most frequently returning international visitors. (and they gave us a discount too!) It's generally pretty hot in the mountainous centre of the South Island (when it isn't raining, that is) and we hit ...
