Obersaxen, Switzerland acgwhaleWe continued on the roadbook without too much of a problem, driving through some really pretty towns and villages. We stopped at a post office, to get stamps, just in case the postcard shops didn't sell them. The change we got in Liechtenstein came in handy here! The route took us into a small town which had a Subaru dealer, so we stopped for a few bingo card photos. As we drove away from there, we saw a ...
Landquart, Switzerland dirtyweekendersSo here I am, at Brunei airport. Counting down the minutes til I can take a sleeping tablet! Happened to be sitting next to a guy on the 1st flight who's doing the same tour as me -unfortunately for him, he got to see my lunch. :(<br>Not so keen to ...
Brunei, Brunei ellemojo... building, and the government building. This area looks very modern but blends well into the surrounding mountains and old houses and buildings.<br><br>It was a sunny day but a bit chilly. I decided the best way to warm up was to hike up to the castle. I started walking up a steep hill that I thought would lead me to the castle. It passed through a beautiful residential area and eventually ended at a trail head. Perfect! From there I ...
Vaduz, Liechtenstein travelingdivaWell, its still more than a month to go before our flight to New Zealand but my family and I are full of anticipation already. We are really excited since we never been to NZ before, ore so to the southern Hemisphere. First trip is always special and we know it already although we havent started the holiday yet. We purposely choose June 2009 for the trip since we really want to be there in winter. I know some people might find that weird ...
BSB, Brunei mommy2009'Please try this. Once i have one, i cannot stop eating them' The tour guide pleaded at one of the short stops between madly rushing us through the streets of Bandar-Seri-Begawan in peak hour - a totally unplanned adventure through the salutary capital of Brunei That's a big wrap for something that looked like nothing more than chicken on a skewer. The Bruneian name 'tongkeng' made it sound almost exotic, although ...
Brunei, Brunei andrew.campbellI took an overnight trip to the Ulu Temburong National Park, which is in the South East part of Brunei. This was an absolutely incredible place. I stayed at the Ulu Ulu Resort (www.uluuluresort.com) in the middle of the rainforest. The trip to get there itself was bit of an adventure. First we took a 45 min ride on a speed boat on a series of rivers through dense mangrove forests to the town of ...
Ulu Temburong National Park, Brunei georgg... mountain streams, villages.....what can I say?<br><br>While the train was going through a clearing, Shirley spotted some people taking a break sitting down on a bench, she cried out “Oh look, the peasants are sitting down.” We all got a big laugh out of that one. <br><br>We arrived at the train station in St. Moritz and boarded the bus to head into town. St. Moritz, Swiss Alps, Switzerland pemalak... go all out for desserts, and it shows…but they also walk a lot, so they can eat like this. When we returned from dinner, it was quite late and we have an early start on Monday... we are off for Lucerne. (Before I forget, the music during dinner was absolutely wonderful. Two young fellows were playing local Swiss mountain music on accordions and my feet just couldn’t stay still. Maggie was the only other one of Our Group who went with us.) We had a great time.<br><br>
