    ... 16th century tapestries, paintings, china etc. In one place the kitchens still had medieval sink, stove, pump and oven with copper pots and pans and it was easy to imagine what life was like!

    ... we drive through the Loire the guide points out other chateaux as there are over 300 in the Loire alone. We had a little time in Ambois to pick up some lunch to take back to the hotel.
