... rat because she offered me some hot water to drink. It was well worth braving the rain for the museum because they had an excellent collection of native Haida art including huge totem poles, masks and other carvings made from red cedar trees. The totems are fascinating and tell stories of tribal family history and status. James and I particularly liked the stylised paintings of animals including a salmon and an eagle. There is also a very ...

A quick aside about Elyssa’s shoe choice might be appropriate here. She did not bring tennis shoes, and instead was wearing little ballet flats made out of sweater material. Cute, but perhaps a tish impractical, as we had to walk a LONG way to Granville Island. Needless to say, her poor feet were not holding up well. You might even say they were hammered. Hammered feet, again.
Once on Granville Island, we went to the Public Market ...
... only to get stopped at the security check and rerouted to check in the carry on suitcase!....Matt even more frustrated....
When we arrived in New York, we took the train and subway to the hotel, grabbed some Indian food and stayed in for the evening.....
... South Africa put on a beautiful display, but we couldn't find the accompanying music on the radio, and we couldn't see the display down low on the water, so it was impossible to tell how they compared to Canada's display last Wednesday.
Jacques was kind to drive us home and we fell asleep listening to the rumble of thunder and raindrops hitting the windows.

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada moncasters... degrees at this stage, not a cloud in the sky.. very nice. After our cruise we decide to head back to his pad and chill for a bit, have a drink and away we go on his two pushies, we went for a cruise all around Vancouver with a 25k bike ride (the no motor kind) around Stanley Park seawall, beautiful spot. After that we came home and had some dinner, put a hefty dent in some beautiful Vodka that I brought over
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada slinger... you came....love you really. On the bridge i took my time, asking people to take photos of me, taking photos of others, watching the river running below and despite all of the people it really was peaceful standing there. On the other side there is tree top trails to follow, sort of Ant and Dec austrailian jungle style, minus the snakes, monkeys, spiders and annoying washed up celebrities. I spent half an hour guiding my way through the tree tops, looking out at the ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada ollie2408... hopped on yet another greyhound.... this time bound for whistler. The journey was stunning... even if you don't ski... visiting whistler is worth it for the ride up. There is something just so humbling about huge snow capped mountains right on the green pacific ocean. After waiting for a few mins at the bus stop at whistler along came anther friendly face..... this time fellow bauble hanger and tree expert Rich. As was mentioned ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada lucywalshpc32... than 20 minutes....the "Black" cruise card helped for sure, but everything was efficient and organized. Our room is quite large and very comfortable. I spent today locating the best reading chair on the whole ship...right by a big window in the espresso bar. A rough beginning to be sure, but things are going well now. [1> We were on a downgrade when the driver hit the brakes. Toni was sitting in the ...
Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada kenped... like Chickadees and then we some some gophers, rabits, and other small little mammals, and even some field mice. We then go down the Pavillion Mountain road down on the other side near Clinton. We stop at this place in Clinton for lunch, and it was really good. It is one of the only pubs in town, and attached to a hotel resort. The owners were originally from Vancouver BC.
We then had a drive from Clinton up to 100 mile house, Williams Lake, and Quesnel and I ...
