Our first day of driving we made it to Grand Junction, Colorado. It was a spectacular drive with mountain vistas, canyons, mesas and the longest stretch of highway in the lower 48 without services. Day 1 – Saturday 9-21

Jan, Roxanne George & I departed for Newark airport. 8am picked them up at Roxanne's house and off to Newark. We stopped at a Greek diner for a very nice lunch.
We arrived at 1:30 and had a nice slow lunch at the airport. George picked out a nice red wine, very nice; he started a tab.
