We arrived in the morning in Chiang Mai. I needed a good stretch, as sleeping on a train bed is not the most comfortable of things - there was a lot of cracking of body parts as I was doing this, which made a couple of the girls jump! Salut tout le monde! Je suis arrivee a Chiang Mai hier, dans le Nord de la Thailande. On a pris le train de nuit depuis Lampang. Le train est tres confortable. Air climatise et couchette! Je ne crois pas avoir mieux dormi depuis le debut du voyage. On a pris les couchettes du haut, moins cheres car elles sont moins larges et n'ont pas de fenetre, et c'etait amplement suffisant. From Thaton, we journey along the Kok River in longtail boats towards Chiang Rai. At some times of the year, we may need to travel by minivan due to the low water level. The trip along the Kok River allows us time to enjoy the hilly surroundings and look out for small villages, which are home to various hill tribe people.
