... bought to take home, and they sold them to us. The lady they belonged to didn't seem that happy about it, but the other two insisted. We felt a bit guilty, but they were worth it.

That's about all I have to say about our time in Phrae, which was a very food oriented part of the trip. Next stop we will be tottering back on to the tourist trail in Chiangmai, which will be a shock to the system after barely seeing another westerner for more than 10 ...

We rejected the first hotel, two hundred yards from the bus station as too grand, the second was very dated and even the pictures of the rooms showed it wasn't worth 700B. ... river rafting. Best day so far on trip I reckon. At night we went around Chiang Mai. So relaxed here and still a lot of backpackers but no where near as commercial. We lost our cards so no poker. ... that we didnt miss any shops! I was knackered by the end of it, and out like a light by 9pm! The train was sooooo slooooww! My gosh! The train person also chucked us outta bed at 8am!
