... a decent map and after figuring out where north probably was we headed for the Mercado (Merchandise market) as it closed at 2:30. The map was sort of approximate but we found it. It was ancient and represented a early version of a supermarket. Sort of like a farmer's

Market full of fresh fish, butcher shops and a variety of cheese, bread and other foods. Many shops were already closed.

... lentils with finely-chopped bacon and the moved on to La Bodeguitta - a trendy bar on Livorno's canal system featuring live music. The latter featured the ex-drummer from Prince's band with accompaniment, I hope.,
Then on to Il Rivellino San Marco in the Venezian quarter - amazing food, Paul had polpi and lardo ("it's like a floppy pork scratching").

... very long, with some selfish people pushing in. Then I had to pay 1 euro for the pleasure! So,Terry waited outside for me, and dragged me over to the tower for a couple of quick photos, but not enough time to really absorb the atmosphere before we had to scuttle back to the bus.

Lucca turned out to be a pretty interesting town. The original old town was another walled city with the wall being about 30' high and a bit wider than that on the top, making a great place for the people to walk, jog and bicycle all the way around the old town with great views from the top of the wall while exercising. ... which are 'original fakes'. They have been in every town and country that we have been to.
We definitely wanted to have a spaghetti meal in our last Italian port so found a restaurant that looked ok and it was, but it was quite expensive. We still enjoyed our meal and our local beer.
Back to the ship by 1pm and rested up.
Cannes tomorrow which we are looking forward ...
