... we spent some time at a lookout. Sylvia then dropped us inside the walled city of Florence for some free time for lunch and shopping. We had a ride on a carousel (the girls that is) ate Pizza and drank wine. The rain had finally stopped so strolling around Florence was lovely. ... did not know what to expect. She was brilliant however. She had a very strong Irish accent and was a very funny lady when talking. She interacted very well with the crowd and her singing voice was totally unexpected. She had an excellent contralto voice and sang with great control. Her range, breath control and tonal quality was excellent. She sang commedy and popular songs and even opera - all sung very well. We could have listened to her far longer. ...

... by far the prettiest beach so far. On the old side of town, they were doing some construction – looked like they were trying to build a beach on that side as well. I’ve been surprised by the lack of beaches, as the landscape is very rocky or mountainous at the waters’ edge.

We had a bit of free time, and I ate my pesto and bread on the beach. Then our group took a train from Monterosso to just a few stops down ...

... along the top of it and all the stone work floors from above which was cool. Every 30 mins one of the guards sings so you can really tell how well the sound travels though out the building.

We also toured the graveyard, which was really just a building that had tombs in the ground with a garden in the center. There was a few big coffins that were all carved and decorated, but no tomb stones like you'd think.
