... Steve and Ian elected to bypass the hilltop towns of Radicofani and Montalcino whereas Steve, Clive and I plugged on with the two extra climbs (I did wonder about the sense of it toiling up the hills but the descents were great!).
Along the way we bumped into a few walkers doing the Via Francigena - they were complaining about the heat as well. Virtually all of the rivers we crossed were ...

Began our day in Dubrovnik with a walk to the old town and then a climb to the top of the wall that surrounds the city. it's around 2 km long and the views in all directions are amazing. From here it is easy to see the results of the 1991 bombings that rocked this small city leaving 300 dead and many more homeless. The houses ...

We thought Assisi was beautiful.... Siena was fan..tas..tic! We parked on the outskirts of the historical city and took a bus up the steep hill into its centre. A buzzing city with the famous Domo... A Bascilica second to none.. The artwork and architecture here is magnificent!.... The men waited patiently while we experienced ...

So we stopped, parked, looked at each other with wide wired eyes and tried to find where we were . Map was in the boot so steve popped out to get it, but the maps boundaries didnt include the whole walled city area, there were sections missing which we realised we were parked in, so it was hard to find where we were. We decided to follow the city driving around the outside of the ...

... of Siena. We went to an old castle like building where you can walk up on the walls and there is a view over Siena. It is like a park now. We walked past an outdoor theatre too which was cool!

We got some great shots! There were heaps of runners going around, it was like a circuit!

We had a lovely night out taking pictures and enjoying our last moments in Siena.
We got back to the room and finalised our backpacks.. not all that keen to leave in the morning :(
