... was absolutely stunning and it got us out of the town for the day. The trip continued in a similar fashion with a bit of rafting and then waiting for 60 people to line up for a photo opportunity for what ever reason.It took 3 hours to travel the 12 km, of which, 40 minutes was rafting. However, the rafting portion was really fun and we were allowed jump of the raft and swim through calmer parts of the river. This place would be perfect ...

... staying. He fed us home made jams and fruit from his tree and introduced us to his pride and joy turtle pets. They have free roam in the garden. It's awesome. Guess what we are getting when we get back home. We spent the day walking around the beach and through the ruins, tasting the cheap and delicious foods from a sneaky little home cook place not catering to any tourists... Delicious food!
The beaches were covered in rubbish and the amount of cigarette butts ...

... statues unearthed tomorrow at the Antalya Museum. Next we were off to Aspendos, 48kms east. We were unable to see the Aspendos Theatre as it has been closed for renovations, but we did see the reconstructed bridge and the aquaduct. In the 1930's Atatürk, after tourıng the area, declared that theatre was too beautiful not to use and had renovations done and it now is the home of live performances. This did not sit well with some historians. ...

Sitting on the top deck, the river trip took us past small fish farms, watermelon fields under miles of plastic sheeting and a busy boatyard. It seemed that all the pirate ships were in for maintenance, and we passed many of them gorily adorned, moored up waiting for their repaint job.

There were lots of men lounging on the riverbanks as we passed, fishing.
At one point, Dayle pointed to a fish in the river below us, but on reflection ...
