... dignified with a doorman and a big oak staircase but we took the lift to the 4th floor. The decor is very restrained pastel colours and there is a piano tinkling in the background. Being early it's not busy and we have a corner table. It's a set menu apart from the tea to accompany it. There must be about 50 different teas to choose from. I settle for a smoky Earl Grey. Mixture of a bit of Art Deco and 1950s architecture. Pleasant little fountain, with the railway running through the middle of it! Lovely bell bird singing. Went in search of the Te Mata mountain lookout. Went all round it but never found the way up. On to Ocean (Pacific) beach. Lots of people there but all in one flagged area. ...

... you're visiting a multitude of countries including hot and cold climates you can't help but wonder whats suitable. Remember this is a cruise, this one particularly has about 50+ formal nights; suit, bow tie and trousers and all that fancy ass stuff, I'm not sure how appropriate 50 t-shirts and one suit will sit when i'm faced with people who'll expect me to 'look nice'.
