Trains from 9am-5pm to get to the other side of Germany. Loooong trip via Frankfurt and Cologne, but it was very interesting to see the countryside. It was Beautiful through the Rhine Valley. Phew, what a day. After overnight rain the temperature in Berlin was a lot cooler than yesterday. That said it was still in low 20s so very pleasant.

Samson and I picked up the car and managed to navigate our way back to the hotel to pick up G&G. We then headed south towards Colditz Castle. ... one in which I was disappointed. I purchased some Zuckermais (sweet corn) at the grocery. It was pre-packaged, shucked corn-on-the-cob that was ready to prepare. I boiled it as I would at home and found it to not be particularly soft-textured and it also lacked any real flavor—not sweet by any means.
