And then it goes wrong. The key card doesn't work in our door. Our porter took it upon himself to go back to reception to get it changed. It took FIVE trips to Reception and THREE different rooms until we were in. We tipped our porter 5 CUC as well (he didn’t prompt – after the mammoth effort of getting us into a room he earned it!)

... what this is) Most things are priced in CUC – and the exchange rate is pretty much 1:1 with the US dollar, although if you use the dollar here, you get penalized... For obvious reasons. But they also use the BCC for smaller things, like fruit and the exchange rate is 1:23 - I was so confused. But its good to know, just so we don't get ripped off and also confused when we get different notes for change.

Vinalles, Trinidad, Santa Clara ( Che ) and CeinFuegos were towns that were just a pleasure to visit. We stayed at homestays with locals that couldn't do enough for you and gave us mountains of food, drink and hospitality...

At last, the Cuba I have been looking for.

A cigar farm tour was wonderful, the Che museum was moving, a womens chrior singing in a beautiful building, but by far the best moment for me was at a beach ...
