    ... In order to get to the tallest temple you had to walk up a load of steep steps. After 1/2 hour we finally made it..The view was worth it.Then it was the walk down. Roughly 1500 steps to get down (yes we counted) so over 3000 steps we climbed that day...Our legs where ready for bed...     ... a very colorful and lively street lined with shops and food vendors. We tried some sugared walnut that tasted like the inside of a Clark candy bar. We also passed the 15th century Bell Tower and Drum Tower, now preserved in the center of a modern, busy shopping district. Walking back to the bus after dark, both buildings were gorgeous with all of their lights. Xian is a colorful city, and we all wished for another day to treasure all that it offers.
