Our morning flight from Ho Chi Minh to Kuala Lumpur was on time and and we landed in KL at 130pm. Our flight to Miri left at 430pm so we figured we'd have lots of leisure time. Well... we used the web check in the night before so we just went to the baggage drop off counter, just like we did when leaving Ho Chi Minh. Biggest sweat
... the humidity is killing us. At some point we wonder if we didn't take the wrong trail but no, it seems right. The whole trail is about 5-6 km but it seems like muuuuuuuch more! Finally we make it back to the Park HQ and refuel on 100 Plus (local isotonic drink)!!! We had planned the whole day in Lambir but are done with out trekking around 2:00pm and no one feels like going for a second trek so we head up to the little city of Miri where we plan to have dinner anyway. Lambir Hills national Park
... there which was great. We had to walk into a small pool first with a little waterfall, then walked up the stream surrounded by loads of overhanging tropical ferns to the big waterfall and pool. The water was so nice and cool as we were soo hot! Nimbong waterfall was really pretty surrounded by huge cliffs with loads of lush plants and ferns. As we walked into the water the cute little fishes and Cray fish came over to see us and started Nibbling at our feet was so cool a free fish spa! ...
Lambir Hills National Park
... the National Park HQ, we purchased tickets, which were all of 18 ringgits each. The only problem was that no-one had informed the driver that we wished to alight at the Park, and the coach merrily sailed on past, until, having noticed the entrance sign, a few frantic shouts were conveyed to the front of the bus, much to the amusement of many locals who were perched on plastic stools all down the aisle.
