... bus to KL, about 1.5 hours from Port Dickson, and strolled through China Town and up to the famous twin towers, which were adjacent to the Renaissance. It was absolutely surreal to experience the luxury of a 5-star hotel after living on a boat for 3.5 months! Truth be told we never left the hotel - we lounged around in our bath robes, enjoyed the complementary food and drinks in the 'Member's Club Lounge', took a long, hot bath and read the selection of international papers to catch up ...

... it will do. With the heat getting the better of us (late 30 degrees), we made our way back to the hotel for some well deserved air con. So the next morning we spent some time making full use of it. Bryan put his swimming teacher ...

... markets and shops were all rammed with people, not much different to Oxford street at Christmas! After all the hustle and bustle Gilly took us to one of the restaurants that she frequents often. It was empty, which was a nice relief from the very hot busy market streets, also a surprise for Gilly who says during the week the restaurant was usually packed! We had something a little different; pork ribs in a bothy/ soup, with rice of course and some amazing veggies!! It ...

The day's plans confirmed, I set out on my last solo adventure at about 10:30 AM. Plans were to visit Istana (the president's residence) which at this time is closed to visitors so one can only only see the gate and the park across the street. This residence is open to the public only four days a year when multitudes take advantage to visit. Terri has been on such a day and did write a blog about it. Near this residence is the Plaza Singapura Mall. It ...
