... were in the States. Singapore is world renowned for its botanical gardens, especially the national orchid gardens. We have always loved orchids, but manage to kill them fairly easily. The gardens were impressive, and there was every type and color of orchid you could imagine - not all were in bloom, but nonetheless they were beautiful. On our way out of the gardens, after having our fill of foliage, we ran into a local Singapore lizard sunning himself just off ...

... I decided to walk down Orchard street past the H&M because I've always stopped there. If I hadn't seen every American/European store the street completed it. Every fast food and store you would find at the mall is here. I found the visitors center and the guy that helped me gave me a million brochures after I told him I would be here a while. Sick of malls but still having time before the Night Safari Zoo opened up (we picked up tickets from our hostel this morning), I drug Fred with me to the part of town called Little India.
When we got off the metro at that stop we immediately saw a difference in the type of demographic of people. While the mass majority of Singapore is Chinese ...

... We then went into the small marina adjacent and looked for an open berth. Again, no luck. Disappointed we decided that it would be best to just pass on Pinang and head back downstream to a place we had seen with a protected anchorage and get an early start the next day. Back under the bridge and out, and by the time we finally set the pick it was nearly 4 PM. We only had time for a quick run in the dinghy to shore where we enjoyed our sundowner watching the hundreds of large ...
