    ... I got a massive fright! We the continued to paddle out to the right, passing plastic bottles, chip packets and other remnants of human rubbish. Plastic really is the root of all-evil.

    I walked across the road and got an ice cream and water. It was stinking hot again and we needed something to cool off. We then started walking back to the tourist information office where we'd left our bags, grabbed them and then made our way to the pier.

    Pier entrance lady: '20 Baht please'

    ... Since our room came equipped with a fridge but no microwave, I heated it up by boiling hot water in the tea kettle and then floating my Tupperware of pasta in the sink filled with hot water.
