... words to the effect "Do you know you're not supposed to moor here unless you are using the facilities?" "Facilities? (looks bemused). Hazel points out the notice and discovers he is a recently retired, very new boatowner. He turned out to be a very pleasant man and any grumpy thoughts we had about his 'thoughtlessness" disappeared.

... would be a good idea. Just a small bottle she said but for twice the price you get 5 times the volume I said. So the 720ml bottle was delivered, warm. All seven of us managed to get down most of the sake, Julie requiring a mouthful of Pims and a gulp of beer as a chaser. Surprisingly she managed two more sakes even after protests and saying sake was disgusting. By 11pm the restaurant was closing down and Richard delivered us back to Southwell. Thanks Richard, ...
