Ski Hill Road Jackson, Wyoming, United States, 800-827-4333
... Canyon where we had a long gradual climb that provided us with beautiful views of the Grand Teton and every glacier surrounding it. On this hike we also got to see a moose from afar and an adorable little yellow bellied marmot up close and personal. We were pretty exhausted after the hike, and in our quest to find more wireless internet we found the Teton Lodge which had spectacular views of the range and some pretty delicious pizza.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States nelmieux... ever cool the Tetons look we will have to come back. The hike is just too long.
The moose are suppuse to be here but still there is no sight of them, the only big animal here was a big dog on the lose in our campsite while I (Caroline) was going outside to dump our graywater... which I them didn´t.... Jackson is a very cute skiresort/upscale town with cosy restaurants and shops, a nice brake!
Dinner time! (tuna kebab with rice and cranberry/spinachsallad!)

Jackson, Wyoming, United States skjaerseth... and a very windy bald face. After our hike, we attempted to treat ourselves to a night in one of the Yellowstone Cabins since it was supposed to rain. Unfortunately all rooms in Yellowstone were booked so we were left to duke it out for the remaining campsites in the southernmost area of the park, Grant Village. After being shut out of the cabin experience, we headed over to the Old Faithful Inn ...

Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming, United States scher-air... the temerature in the upper 80's.

I think the Grand Tetons are the best looking mountain range I have ever seen. The rise about 8000 feet directly out of a flat plane without an foothills blocking the view. There are some lakes on the east side of the range that just add to the view along with the snake river working its way through a shallow valley. Was watching the sunset from the Snake River Overlook, where Ansel Adam took his famous picture of the ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States cmbuchholz... guide told us that the bigger ones were yet to come. Our favourite rapid was called Luncheon Break, where the water was really deep and narrow and the waves were the biggest. The guys at the front swapped with Mum and another guy, so they all had a chance to get soaked. The longest rapid was at the end, where we decided to spin our raft around while rafting the rapid, and even the guide got wet. The water was freezing, so we couldn't feel our hands by the end.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States katta7... got back into Jackson early in the afternoon so I went for a walk around town and stopped into the Million Dollar Cowboy bar for a couple of beers. I ended up leaving the bar with a bottle of single barrel Jack Daniels which had been signed by the JD master distiller. It cost me $45 US. From there I went to another nearby pub for dinner and just sat out on the outdoor balcony relaxing with a few more drinks.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States maccasworldtour... the eruption because shortly after we pulled into the parking lot, we saw a lot of people leaving. After we left Yellowstone, we drove through Grand Teton National Park, we saw herds of bison and were lucky enough to see another Moose, and it crossed the road in front of us! We arrived in Jackson at about 7:30pm. It is very crowded here and there are a lot of stores. Will check out the town tomorrow since we have a non-travel day tomorrow.
Jackson, Wyoming, United States mwtoh... towns are not so sleepy. All hotels/motels/ and other types of accommodation were booked. Yes, that's right, I was splurging on indoor accommodation. Camping in the desert does not appeal to me. Anyways, finally found a motel in Dubois. Nice little establishment (the Chinook Lodge). Next morning, we were taking a pic in front of the lodge for memory's sake and I threw out my back (horsing around, not taking a picture). Makes for a pleasant ...
Jackson, Wyoming, United States shamrockin... We were all scared off falling out but no-one did. The first rapid was small, but seemed so big at the time, its great fun trying to paddle in water with is several feet below you!!! During the quieter periods we had a guided tour, and saw otters and osprey. The guide in the other boat even did a back-flip off the boat for our entertainment! Neil dived into the very cold water - i was too chicken! We hit some big waves next, Kahuna, were we got VERY wet and my ...
