Very good hotel. Excellent restaurant. Nice, if small, pool area. Staff friendly & polite. Plenty of plugs in the room and you don't need a degree to work out the light switches!
In nice location minutes from downtown Siem Reap and away from busier main road with huge tourist hotels.

Nice, fairly new hotel. The lobby is beautiful. Nice pool area. The food is pretty good for a massive buffet. Walking distance to the museum

We really recommend this 4 star hotel for anyone staying at Siem Reap. It is only. 10 minute drive to Angkor Wat, spotlessly clean, and fantastic gourmet breakfast buffets the can be enjoyed inside or outside in their inner courtyard garden. The pool is lovely after a hot day touring the ruins, and well, I have already raved about their spa!

The Tara Angkor is a lovely hotel and we breakfasted like royalty.

We drove first on very smooth roads (predominantly the Korean by-pass) and then on one of our Cambodian Massage roads to get to the remote village of Pheasneng where around 200 children waited for rice soup to be cooked. It was obvious that for many of them this was the …

We were all pretty exhausted after our mammoth journey Thursday and yesterday so slept till late, missing breakfast. Went instead to have a swim and then had lunch in the hotel (a bit of a mission as I ordered veggie burger then changed my mind and tried to get noodles with vegetables, which I did not) promising ourselves an easy day before we …

Our last day is here and I'm sad to think it is almost all over. I’m devastated to think I have a 30+ hour plane journey a head of me!

This morning we visited Ta Prohm and Banteay Srei temples. Both very unique. Ta Prohm has been somewhat cleared of the vegetation that overtook all of the local temples but has been left in a semi …

Ok, I know I said we have had some early mornings but today was the earliest. 4:30 am wake up calls. It was for a worthy cause though -- sunrise over Angkor Wat temple. We arrived in the dusky light of dawn and walked through the ancient gates that framed the outline of the breathtaking temple. The sky grew lighter by the minute revealing the …

A travel blog entry by roadscholarorg on Mar 14, 2015

Due to our program taking place at the end of dry season, we had to disembark our ship and bus to Siem Reap as there just wasn't enough water to float us there. We rose very early and had our final goodbyes with the crew. On my walk through the village that lay between the ship and the awaiting bus, a very sweet ninth-grade boy fell in step with me …
