... abbiamo dovuto guadare il suddetto fiume di fango. Il terreno di questa vallata desertica talmente secco che quando piove non assorbe nulla e il disastro sempre dietro l'angolo.

... hidden away in the greenery of the mountains, the Malka hostel must be one of the nicest hostels in the country. It has the feel of a Buddhist retreat. When going to have breakfast in the cafe it took us quite a while to stop sighing at the dramatic mountain views and even to notice food.

These were overwhelming, beautiful and pretty much deserted, so we walked for an hour or so, and helped our new American companions take some cheesy visual-effect pictures.
