... that we passed a supermarket to pick up some Argentinian steak for dinner before heading back through the rain to the hostel.

Tomorrow we’re heading south through the Quebrada de Cafayate towards Tucuman. We haven’t decided exactly where to sleep yet, but we’ll figure that out during the evening.

... be in trouble, but we were just waved through, too easy :). We also visited the bird park just next to the falls entrance, I often don't like some of the animal zoo's, as I tend to feel sorry for animals in them, but it was a really nice place, well laid out with huge walk through aviaries , and all the birds looked healthy. ... Pachamama' which in english means "good mother" and the people toast to her honor before every meeting or festivity, . Now with these guys we weren't sure what the festivity was but that was their excuse!!!! By the time we had to go past them again after viewing the ruins they were 'legless' but they went all night...5am. Fascinating!!!

Our last stop, after Aldea Luna and pre Bolivia, was Tilcara for 3 days- a pretty ‘one horse’ town near the Bolivian border. Its high altitude and surrounded by cactuses, mountains and desert. While there we went for a few walks, acclimatised to the new altitude, and basically enjoyed some luxuries ...

... hit route 52, which took us up and over another large mountain range. The road was sealed, giving us a smoother ride, but it was very windy. It was very slow going as we worked our way up and then back down the other side but the scenery was pretty spectacular, so it was worth it.
