... 2850mtrs into a waterfall and canyon. really beautiful! we then went to a fortress from inca times, was pretty cool.....

today were going to the nxt town but hurmahuaca, its at 2900mts so good practice for bolivia.....

tomorrow we plan to move towns and stay in purmamarca for two nights, weve tickets from there to atacama on sun ...

We shared the trail with many people, because today is 9th of July, Argentinas independence day....tons of people on holiday.

Purmamarca's main square was packed with vendors selling "authentic argentine handicrafts" which were actually crafts from Peru Bolivia and Ecuador, priced much higher.

... the local monument monstrosity thing above those stairs, and the statue of St Francis that rolls out of the local churchtower every noontime to bless the crowd in the square below was securely sealed away behind what look like bulletproof doors, but we really like this pretty town.
On the way home we crossed once again the tropic of capricorn with its majestic marker. Gotta find out where the tropic of cancer is...

We felt so relaxed in Tilcara we booked in for another 2 nights and pottered around the town stocking up on things like a new pack of cards which we somehow managed to misplace in Copacabana. Mike was very happy to be able to listen to the England India test match and even more happy with the result. . .
