Our fantastic adventure was over.
Octopus Island Fiji, Western, Fiji lpeacock... island with white beaches and swaying coconut palms. WE enjoyed a beach BBQ and played a little beach volleyball. Went for a sail on a hoby cat. Something I hadn't done since my days in Pt Moresby. We had a great day and again the Fijians excelled with their friendly and open demeanour.

A memorable visit and highly recommended.
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji craig61We flew from Brisbane to Nadi, Fiji on May 17th. We stayed with a woman named Dee and her son James in their house. They were very friendly. Monday morning, May 18th, we took a ferry to the Yasawa Islands to get some beach time. We've heard mixed information on the status of the government here. The ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji bradandsandi... the sea, but fortunately Jamie was more sure-footed and was able to carry my bag containing the the ipod and camera above his head with out submerging them in seawater. The following day we did a couple of dives which were good although the visibility wasn't great as the water was still settling from all the storms. Jamie had to go up to the boat a little early on the first dive as he had run out of air due to his weighting being all wrong, and unfortunately for him this meant he missed ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji jessjamie... although it was only 10am, we gladly accpeted. sean just took a whole bottle to himself, which the crew though was worth a laugh. then you know what, things really picked up after that. everyone started to laugh at the abserdity of the situation and began to have a really good time. a bunch more passengers came over to hang out with us, and we all proceeded to get high-school drunk (or was it just me and sean? i cant remember now ...
Mamanuca Islands, Fiji tsquared... had gotten off the bus and moved quickly down the street ignoring all that was going on around us, until hot and stressed we entered into what looked on the surface, to be a reasonably nice and safe coffee shop. Were we ever mistaken. Looking back now, I realise that the error I made at that time, was in reaching over to Lynda's handbag just before entering the coffee lounge and while still on the street, to place my glasses case into her bag. From a ...
Nadi, Viti Levu, Fiji laurieslife... was some Wolf Vodka that goes for $15 US but they were auctioning it off for $60 Fijian, what a rip off. As a thanks to our Peace Corp friends we treated them to pizza and a fun match of UNO. Lautoka was fun but it is time to head back to Musket and get out of Fiji. We have one day to get out or we are illegal.
Lautoka, Viti Levu, Fiji abeiner11Tuesday 9 September Lautoka and Beachcomber Island Despite the "03:30" schedule, we didn't get into Lautoka port until about 07:30 and it was 08:30 before we got off the ship. I had a tentative arrangement with a dive centre on an island in the Mamanuca's, which involved first getting there by boat from a resort hotel down the coast. The boat was scheduled to leave for a "day cruise" at 09:00. Fortunately, the CGA-CGM port agent offered to arrange a lift and the driver ...
Lautoka, Viti Levu, Fiji pete-rAfter a 32 hour I finally arrived in Fiji!!! The humidity really hits you as you get off the plane! Rich, one of the crew members came to collect me with one of the guys - Jonnie, but he was there for his mate, who he was going to go island hopping with. We made it back to the house by around 7, and i was left sitting by myself in the 'sitting room'. In drips and drabs I met all the other venturers....all are really nice! There were 5 other girls when I first ...
Lautoka, Fiji idrummond... and spluttering between life and death.

On land I mainly lived off the food that fell from the trees (coconuts, plantanes (cooking bananas...) as I found myself very cash strapped after my trip to the States. It was a lovely experience and an added delight to scrounge my money together for that one luxurious sunset beer every night. And the sunsets were stunning! When the generators went out at 10 everything was pitch-black underneath the stars and quiet ...
